I know you all must be getting ready for the battle in few weeks.

Twelve years ago , in 2006 April , I too was just like you and making time tables, revision notes , past paper questions , no pay leaves (talk about it ! )

Discuss THREE different types of multimedia that could be used to enhance a web page that a school wishes to use for advertising and promotion of the school. (3 x 4 marks)

Advices to write a Section B answer 

Hello kids , Section B requires structured ( brief precise answers) only. You need not spend time to introduce the problem , and justify your opinions or write assumptions. But DO remember , never write one word answers , write statements with meanings . Make the answer always relevant to the school scenario mentioned. 

Sample Answer : 

Multimedia is known as any type of artistic media used for communications . Types of multimedia include Images , Texts , Moving Images (Video) or Sounds (Audio) . In a webpage nowadays most of these multimedia elements are used for attractiveness and efficiency in communication a message . 

Precisely a school could use the following 3 types of multimedia in their webpage for better advertising and promotions. 

1. Images 
Images are 2D pictures (Colour or Monochrome) that can be used to explain whats expressed in thousand words sometimes . A gallery of school pictures of labs , classrooms could be published to attract more admissions. Attractive banners, notices could be used to report new admissions , new coming up events and special occasions . However images take more storage space and loading time than text , which could be a disadvantage . 

2. Audio 
Audio means the sound clips or live streams a website can publish. A school can live cast a web radio ) perhaps by media unit students) , and use sound clips of principla's speeches , downloadable links for school anthem etc. The viewers need to be careful to see if the sound format is compatible , or admins can provide converters or test links . 

3. Video 
Although video takes up large storage space as well as loding issues in slow internet connections , video can express millions of opinions in a clip. This school could use video to publish online tutorials , lectures or lessons , publish powerpoint created slide shows , special occasions video coverages on their website.
